Job description

We’re looking for reliable and confident male support workers, based on participant preferences, to support participants across Western Sydney. You’ll be working with individuals who may have complex mental health needs and behaviours of concern, supporting them both at home and out in the community.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you might be helping someone engage in activities they enjoy, and the next you could be supporting them through a challenging moment by staying calm, patient and responsive. Building trust is a big part of this role, as well as being consistent, observant, and able to adapt your approach depending on the situation.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Assisting with community participation (appointments, activities, outings)

  • Managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a safe and respectful way

  • Supporting participants with mental health needs

  • Encouraging independence and building confidence

  • Following care plans and reporting any changes

Why Goaldis is a great place to work

Goaldis was built by people who have real, hands-on experience in the disability sector, particularly in mental health and supporting people with complex behaviours. Because of that, we understand that good support doesn’t just come from ticking boxes, it comes from having the right people in the right environment.

We know that when support workers feel backed, listened to, and properly supported, they’re able to do their best work. That’s why we focus on building a strong, reliable team and making sure our staff have the guidance and support they need on shift, especially when things get challenging.
