Job description
We are looking for compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in Waratah, supporting a 23-year-old male and a 20-year-old female. The participants have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with one participant diagnosed with ASD Level 2, and require medium-level support both at home and in the community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting independence, and has experience working alongside people with autism, mental health needs and behaviours of concern.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support participants with daily living activities in their home while encouraging independence.
Assist with meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment.
Provide community access support, including attending appointments, social activities and recreational outings based on participant goals and interests.
Support participants with emotional regulation and implement Behaviour Support Plans where required.
Encourage skill development and increased independence in everyday life.
Assist with medication support in accordance with training and organisational policies.
Transport participants to appointments and community activities.
Complete accurate progress notes and incident documentation.
Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals and the wider support team to deliver consistent, person-centred care.
