Job description

We are looking for a caring and dependable disability support worker to support a 10-year-old boy with autism who lives in Rouse Hill.

The role involves providing consistent morning support from Monday to Friday. You will help the client prepare for the day, follow his established routine and support him in a calm, respectful and encouraging way.

The ideal worker will have previous experience supporting children with autism and will understand the importance of routine, clear communication and building trust over time.

Tasks and responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the client with his weekday morning routine

  • Helping him prepare for school and daily activities

  • Using clear, age-appropriate communication

  • Following established routines and support strategies

  • Encouraging independence while providing support where needed

  • Helping the client manage transitions between activities

  • Responding calmly to changes, distress or challenging situations

  • Providing safe transport when required

  • Communicating with the family about the shift and any important updates

  • Maintaining professional boundaries and respecting the client’s privacy

  • Completing shift notes and following the client’s support plan
