Job description
We’re looking for a reliable and personable support worker to provide community access and companionship support to a client living with a psychosocial disability. This role is all about building a genuine connection and supporting meaningful time out in the community.
You’ll be helping the client get out of the house, enjoy day trips, and stay socially engaged. A natural, relaxed approach is key. This role suits someone who can show up as a companion rather than taking a clinical or overly formal approach.
Tasks and responsibilities
Supporting community access (local outings, errands, coastal trips)
Providing companionship and social support
Transporting the client to and from outings (longer drives are part of the role)
Encouraging engagement in activities aligned with the client’s interests
Maintaining appropriate boundaries and following support guidelines
Being adaptable to occasional schedule changes or cancellations
