Job description
We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to provide regular support to a client in their home in Willoughby.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two shifts will necessarily look the same. You may be helping with personal care and everyday routines at home on one shift and supporting the client to get out into the community on another.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with a range of tasks and can adapt their support to what the client needs on the day. The focus is on providing respectful, practical support while encouraging the client's independence, choices and involvement in everyday life.
The role offers approximately 10-15 hours per week with this client. There are also other clients who require support, so suitable workers may have opportunities to pick up additional shifts and build more regular hours.
Tasks and responsibilities
Provide personal care and assistance with daily routines
Assist with hygiene, showering, toileting and other personal care needs where required
Support the client with everyday activities around the home
Support the client to participate in the community
Assist with social activities, outings and appointments based on what the client wants to do
Encourage independence and support the client to make their own choices
Provide general day-to-day disability support as required
Follow the client's support plan, routines and preferences
Communicate relevant information or concerns to the coordinator
