Job description
We are seeking a confident, emotionally resilient and professional Female Disability Support Worker to support a participant living in Logan.
This role requires someone who can build trust gradually while maintaining strong professional boundaries. The participant has a significant trauma history and may challenge new workers before trust is established. The ability to remain consistent, calm and respectful is essential.
We are looking for someone whose attitude, values and approach align with person-centred support. Experience is welcome, but personality fit, emotional intelligence and commitment to doing the right thing are equally important.
Tasks and responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support with periods of 2:1 support as required
Support community participation and social engagement based on participant goals and interests
Assist with daily living activities and personal care where required
Follow behaviour support and risk management strategies
Maintain accurate documentation and communication records
Build positive and professional working relationships
Support emotional regulation and wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
Participate in team meetings, handovers and buddy shifts
Promote participant choice, independence and dignity
Qualifications
