Job description

We’re looking for a kind and reliable support worker to spend time with a participant who has mental health and cognitive challenges.

This role is all about helping them get out of the house and enjoy their weekly routine. You’ll be picking them up, taking them to an activity like Bingo, and spending time with them while they’re there. It’s a fairly relaxed shift, but your presence makes a big difference in helping them feel comfortable, supported, and included.

You might also need to help with some personal care during the shift, depending on how they’re feeling that day. Being patient, understanding, and easy to get along with is really important in this role.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide transport to and from community activities (e.g. Bingo at Campbelltown RSL)

  • Offer companionship and social support during outings

  • Assist with any personal care needs (hygiene, toileting, general daily support if required)

  • Create a safe, respectful, and positive environment

  • Be patient and responsive to both emotional and physical support needs

Why Enrich Abilities is a great place to work

Enrich Abilities is a not-for-profit provider that’s genuinely focused on people both the participants they support and the staff they employ. As part of The Co-Group and founded in 2023, the organisation was created with a clear purpose: to help people with disabilities build independence, develop skills, and feel more connected to their community.

What really stands out is our approach. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all view of support. Instead, we take the time to understand each person properly. Learning about their goals, their preferences, and what matters to them and then tailoring support around that. As a support worker, that means you’re trusted to provide care in a way that actually works for the individual, not just follow a rigid routine.

The team works closely with participants and their families, so you’re not working in isolation, you’re part of a wider support network that’s all working toward the same goals.
