Job description
We’re looking for a warm, down-to-earth support worker to provide companionship and social support to a woman in her 40s living in Penrith.
This role is all about connection. It’s not clinical or formal. You’ll be supporting her to get out of the house, rebuild routine, and enjoy everyday activities again. Think walks, coffee, light outings, and simply spending time together in a way that feels natural and genuine.
You’ll need to be someone who can blend in more like a friend than a support worker, helping her feel comfortable and confident in the community again.
Tasks and responsibilities
Supporting community access (e.g. walks, outings, errands)
Providing companionship and social connection
Encouraging routine and gentle structure
Engaging in light, shared activities based on her interests
Offering emotional support in a calm, patient, and non-judgemental way
Qualifications
Required
Driver's License

Why Aura Assist is a great place to work
Aura Assist is a great place to work because it’s run by people who’ve actually been support workers themselves. The two founders both have hands-on experience as support workers, so they genuinely understand what you need to feel supported, respected, and set up to do your best work.
There’s a strong focus on matching you with the right participants, keeping things flexible, and avoiding overly clinical or rigid approaches. You’re trusted to build real relationships and support people in a natural, human way.
It’s a supportive, down-to-earth environment where your work is valued, and where you can focus on making a meaningful difference without unnecessary pressure or red tape.
