Job description

Axis Supports is currently recruiting both male and female Support Workers in Inner West and Western Sydney. We are particularly looking for experienced support workers who have supported individuals with behaviours of concern and those with vision impairment.

This role involves supporting people with disability to live independently, build skills, and participate in meaningful activities both at home and in the community. We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive support workers who are comfortable supporting participants with varying support needs.

We offer a highly competitive casual rate of $44 per hour for workers who hold relevant qualifications and experience.

Tasks and responsibilities

Your role may include:

  • Assisting with daily living tasks in the home

  • Supporting participants with vision impairment and mobility guidance

  • Supporting community access including appointments, social outings and activities

  • Implementing behaviour support strategies where required

  • Supporting participants with mental health needs

  • Supporting participants with personal care including hygiene, showering, dressing and toileting

  • Supporting independence and life skill development

  • Maintaining accurate progress notes

  • Following care plans and behaviour support plans

  • Responding calmly and effectively to changing situations
