Job description

Nepeve Care Services is seeking compassionate and reliable female Support Workers to support a gentleman living independently in Picton who is transitioning home from hospital.

The participant is blind and has recently undergone treatment for cancer. This is likely to be an end-of-life support role, requiring workers who can provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and quality of life.

The participant lives alone with his dog, who is a very important part of his life. He currently manages most aspects of his personal care independently but may require increased assistance as his support needs change over time.

We are building a consistent team of support workers and can offer 30+ hours per week across a variety of shifts.

  • Assist with daily living tasks and household activities

  • Support community access, appointments, shopping, and social activities as directed by the participant

  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the participant

  • Support the participant to maintain independence and make choices about his daily routine

  • Monitor wellbeing and communicate any concerns to the care team

  • Assist with personal care when required, including hygiene, showering, dressing, and toileting

  • Support the participant to continue caring for and spending time with his dog
