We are looking for a reliable, practical and caring Disability Support Worker who can assist with everyday activities at home and in the community.
You must have:
A reliable car and current Driver’s Licence
NDIS Worker Screening Check
National Police Check
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Current First Aid Certification
Experience providing personal care
Confidence with cooking and basic meal preparation
Ability to support a client with appointments and community outings
Good communication skills
A reliable and proactive approach to support
Job description
We are looking for a Disability Support Worker to provide regular support to a client who has recently moved into a new home in Moorebank.
The support is focused on helping with everyday routines, including getting in and out of the shower, preparing meals, attending appointments and getting out into the community.
Some general support around the home is also involved. The focus is on helping the client manage everyday life and maintain their independence rather than providing a cleaning service.
There are also other clients who require support, so suitable workers may have opportunities to pick up additional shifts and build more regular hours.
Tasks and responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance where required
Help with general everyday tasks around the home
Cook and prepare meals with or for the client
Support the client to attend appointments
Provide transport and support for outings where required
Support the client to participate in the community based on what they want to do
Encourage the client's independence and involvement in everyday activities
Follow the client's support plan and preferences
Complete shift notes and communicate relevant information to the coordinator
Where suitable, provide support to other clients and pick up additional shifts
